The museum founded in the year 1888 occupies two floors of the art nouveau building of the savings bank in Masaryk Square. Apart from the historical museum exhibition, visitors can see the rich gallery of works of art from the 19th and 20th century, the permanent exhibition Bydžov known and unknown, and other thematic exhibitions regularly changed from its own funds.

Description | In the secession hall on the 1st floor of the savings bank, there are more than 200 paintings, drawings, sketches, posters, plaquettes, relievo and statues of the artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. Bydzov known and unknown is a part of this exhibition - Bydzov is shown on engravings, lithographies, photographs, postcards, pictures, drawings and linen. |

Description | Unique prehistoric finds, valuable guild monuments (exceptional among the weapons are a Hussite howitzer and a Renaissance capon sword), samples of objects from the civic environment – inlaid and carved furniture, glass products, stoneware, faience, porcelain and pewter, jewellery, watches, etc. The exhibit also commemorates the famous tradition of formal student balls and the participation of Skřivany native Dr. Václav Vojtěch in Byrd’s Antarctic expedition in 1928 – 1930. |
