The original Early Gothic castle built above the town around 1254 was reconstructed in a Renaissance and Early Baroque style at the turn of the 17th century. In 1634 Náchod was acquired by O. Piccolomini, who left behind valuable collections of Dutch Gobelin tapestries and floral still lifes.

Piccolominsk Exposition - 1st floor
Description Historical interiors, especially from the period of Ottavio Piccolomini. Two groups of Brussels tapestry from the 17th century and a collection of flower pieces rank among the most important objects. The rooms are equipped by original furniture, pictures, porclain and other objects.

In the duke's courtyard
Description The tour is thematically related to the end of the 18th and 1st half of the 19th century when the Náchod estate was owned by Petr Biron Duke Kuronský and Zaháňský and his daughter Kateřina Vilemína, known as "princess" from the novel "Grandmother" (Babička) written by Božena Němcová. Nine rooms with mainly restored furniture in the style of Classicism, Empire and Biedermeier.
