Observation towers and sight-seeing locations

• Žaltman - iron lookout tower
  The iron lookout tower on Žaltman (739m) in Jestřebí hory provides bird' eye view of local countryside for its visitors from 1967. Giant Mountains, Adršpašsko-teplické skály, Ruprechtický Špičák, Polish Sowie Gory, Broumovské stěny, Orlické hory and Králický Sněžník appear on the horizon.

Ruins, city fortifications

• Vízmburk - castle ruins
  Castle dating back to the 13th century, purchased by Silesian princes and towns in 1447, who then tore it and burnt it down because of danger. Archaeologist Antonin Hejna discovered it under a large deposit of earth in 1972. Excavations were conducted here until 1984, later the area was fenced in and access was forbidden. Access to the monument is gradually being permitted again, conservationists are preparing a project for the rescue of the entire building suffering from the effects of climate.

Technical monuments and planetariums

• Úpice Observatory
  The observatory was put into service in 1959 and at present it pursues popularization activities and holds summer astronomical expeditions. It employs two cupolas, with the largest telescope of 42 cm size.

• Suchovršice - covered bridge
  The unique structure of this bridge built in 1922 is well known to experts. It is a roofed bridge of duplex girder truss system, 24 m long, 4 m wide and the height of the roof ridge above the water level is 8 m.
