The Rules of Movement on the Riding Paths of East Bohemia

It is necessary to adhere to the rules on the riding paths, because they are parallel with tourist and biker paths, cross roads and pass over private trails and parcels. Therefore it is necessary to adhere to basic rules of behaviour and to the rules of movement on the riding path.

Maximum number of horses in a group is limited to ten horses. In this number and a smaller group is much more mobile and guides are able to solve unexpected situation more easily.

In the case of bigger group it is necessary to divide this group into the smaller units with maximum ten horses and to keep to the  distance of minimally 500 metres between groups.

A competent guide or a designated head of group leads the group and is responsible for the group. He is equipped with a mobile phone, an itinerary of path to the next station, which he receives at the start point, and with the actual information about the capacity of the path.

The riding group has to keep to the marked riding path – it is forbidden to ride over fields and meadows out of the paths, to ride into the forests, to  interfere with or to beat up / game wildlife.

The riding group has to keep to local restrictions or regulations. These restrictions can refer to e.g. some restrictions of activity in some segments of the path in fixed time period. In definite localities the limitations are related to ensure quiet for wildlife during rut or (nascency of brood) while giving birth to / bringing out the young ones. In these cases the time limitation of activity in specified segments of the paths will be designated. This fact should be disclosed at every station. It is necessary to respect these measures.

The horse riders must be considerate to the other users of the tracks and the paths. The foot-passengers and bikers can move on the path too. The foot-passengers are in principle passed in pace and in a safe distance. The horsemen have to keep to special cautions while passing or overtaking bikers. Their various clothing and helmets can affect horses differently. Never race with bikers! During passage of two horse riders it is necessary to break into the pace and to pass on the left hand side (according to the rules of the road).

The riding path is not a racing course. There are some segments of the path suitable for the gallop, but it is forbidden to ride at full tear. It is necessary to go around or break into the pace while passing some cross-country obstacles. Jumping is not safe, because horse rider does not know surface at the place of landing.

Overtaking of a rider on horseback is possible only in safe distance and  in order that the rider has a possibility to identify you in advance and to get ready for the response of his horse.

You should overtake other horse riders in faster course. Overtaking of a horse in gallop by accelerated gallop  is misbehaviour.

Camping outside the station is possible only at designated place or at the place, where the landholder permits it.

Every horse rider is riding at the riding path at one´s own risk. If he suffers detriment or injury while riding, whose reason is given by the character of the forest, of the natural environment and of the grounds, he cannot claim compensation neither by the owner of the forest and of the piece of land nor by the civil association Riding path of East Bohemia.

In the forest the riding group moves on marked riding paths only. The paths lead on forest roads, which are reinforced and not reinforced as well, and on forest slopes.

The head of group is obliged to ensure the clearing away of the excrements minimally out of the path, especially in the case, if the riding path is parallel to the turist and biker path.

In the event of any problem (e.g. with the owner of the piece of land, with the surveillance authority – wood guard, police etc.) immediately inform the nearest riding station about it by the mobile phone. Then try to solve the situation together with the station in peace.
