The building is located above the town on the Hořický Chlum ridge. The foundation stone was set on 10 June 1926 in the presence of the first president of the Czechoslovak Republic, T. G. Masaryk. The project originally included an observation tower approximately 40 metres high, which could serve as an aviation beacon on the Prague – Warsaw line. The remarkable lookout tower with glassed-in revolving cupola was put into service by Czech tourists after many hardships in 1926. The rather low tower is a part of Rais Lodge and unfortunately unavailable for many years. However, the hilltop of Zvičina (671m) protrudes above surrounding low hills to such extent that it provides fine, if not entirely panoramic view of its surroundings. Address: Třebihošť
