Častolovice - chateau
The history of Častolovice Chateau extends back to the 13th century when a water fortress stood in the valley of the confluence of the Bělá and Kněžna Rivers. This fortress was built on massive wooden pillars in the middle of the water. The structure was reconstructed as a Renaissance chateau at the turn of the 17th century. Žampach Arboretum
The arboretum is a part of the chateau parks, which measure a total of more than 4 hectares of land divided into the upper and lower part (below the road) and the park in the inner chateau grounds. There is a board information system on the chateau grounds and the upper chateau park, which provides basic information on trees and bushes planted in the park.

Haunted cave in the chateau park
During the period of Romanticism, artifical caves - grottoes were created in the park. The length of the corridor in the opucha rock is approximately 25 m and ends with windows. At present, it is used for expositions on supernatural beings. It is inhabited by Kyšperák the dragon and several elves, basilisks and other monsters, which look forward to little and big visitors alike.
