Castles and chateaus

• Letohrad - chateau
  On the site of today’s east chateau wing the owner of the domain, Zdeněk Žampach of Potštein, built a simple wooden fortress in 1554; in 1681 this was rebuilt by a subsequent owner into an Early Baroque chateau. The fortress was razed and only the stone wall foundations and cellars remained, upon which a two-storied chateau with tower were then built. In the 1990’s extensive reconstruction was undertaken. In addition to permanent exhibits there is also a hotel, private high school, the town library...

Education trails

• Bažantnice - Game Preserve Nature Trail
  The nature trail leads along the yellow tourist marking from the Letohrad to Obory, along forest and field paths. The trail includes 8 stations and 2 sheltered rest areas. The beginning of the trail lies at an altitude of 370 m above sea level, the highest point is 485 m above sea level. The trail is 2.5 km long.

  The Museum is located on the premises of Novy Dvur dating back to 1750. The 1650 m2 area is the largest museum of its type in the CR. It includes more than 50 complete expositions on handicrafts and trades from the period of 1840-1930. In addition to relatively known professions, such as a joiner or carver, it presents work by metal pressers, wheelers, coopers, shingle maker, and many others.   The terrain is overgrown with vegetation with only a faint hint of the castle foundations. In September of 2008, during the scope of celebrations in honour of the 700th anniversary of the town Letohrad, a viewing tower was opened, whihc has become a sought after tourist site and provides a beautiful view of the valley of the river Ticha Orlice and of Castle Lanšperk and the chapel of St. Jan of Nepomuk. An information board on the history of Castle Kyšperk and benches are located here.
