Králický Sněžník

Králický Sněžník, the grand massif and third highest mountain range in the Czech Republic. Primeval times  the borders between Bohemia, Moravia and foreigners– firstly the Prussians, then the Germans, now the Polish. We remember the area in several literary works and films, as a loved, deserted and newly discovered place. Place where  we allow the Genius loci to take its affect on us– from the ruins of the old viewing tower of the Emperor William on the peak of the Králický Sněžník dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, through the extensive system of the borderland fortress from before World War II, all the way to the peak of Klepy, referred to as the roof of Europe, in the centuries’ old rhythm of dividing water into three seas.

However, Králický Sněžník is also a dynamically growing area, with e.g. the centre of winter ski sports to show for it, the Ski centre Sněžník in Dolní Morava of the newly prepared winter centres in the surroundings and maintained cross-country skiing complex on Suchý peak and in the surroundings of Mount Jeřáb . In the right centre of the area, Králíky, you will find pleasant facilities and surroundings for your activities in the historical centre of the town and you can also visit one of the best maintained baroque places of pilgramage – the monastery on Matka Boží Hora (Mount Holy Mother of God) . In nearby Červena Voda, you will ascend the spectacular new viewing tower , just completed in 2006.
