Ratibořice - chateau grounds
Ratibořice is known for the writer Božena Němcová and her work Grandmother, as well as for the Duchess Kateřina Vilemína Zaháňská. The original fortress was rebuilt as a Baroque summer residence. In 1825-1826 the chateau was reconstructed in the Empire style. Running through a park in the vicinity of the chateau is an education trail that introduces visitors to sites such as the Old Bleachery and Rudrův Mill from the novel Grandmother.

An unfinished artillery fortress, part of the Czechoslovak border fortifications from 1935-1938, with a tour of the extensive underground areas. The fortress was intended to protect the Náchod valley.

Nové Město nad Metují - chateau with wooden covered bridge
Visitors of the castle first notice the gnome sculptures, the work of Matyáš Braun. They precede the rich decorations of the castle interior. The castle originates probably in the 16th century and was adapted several times. It gained its final form at the beginning of the 20th century from the hands of the architect Dušan Jurkovič. The interiors will take you back to the time of Art Nouveau and decorativeness.

Broumov - Benedictine monastery
The Benedictine monastery was established in the 14th century through the reconstruction of the original Gothic castle. K. I. Dienzenhofer gave the building its current, magnificent High-Baroque appearance in the first half of the 18th century.

Kahan III - Cold War Museum
An object of the former pre-war fortification system, rebuilt for new warfare methods and research by the army, the Ministry of the Interior, and the needs of the State Secret Security. Reconstruction into a nuclear bomb shelter began in 1986 in the framework of a highly confidential project with the code name Kahan Phase III (the Hanička fortress is part of Kahan I-II); however, the project was never completed. Since 2004 the site functions as a Cold War museum.

Adršpach Rocks - national nature conservation area
The vast rock city with a labyrinth of gorges and ravines is separated from Teplice Cliffs by Wolf Ravine. In addition to romantic walks among bizarre rock formations there are also boat rides on the lake among the steep cliff walls. Other features are the Grand Waterfall, a bust of J. W. Goethe in memory of the poet’s nature studies in 1790. Among the best-known rock formations are Lovers, the Mayor and His Wife, Sugar Loaf, Krakonoš’ Stool, Krakonoš’ Piano, and many others.

Grandmother´s Valley - educational trail with posted information, national natural heritage
The literary-scientific nature trail designed for bicyclists as well as for hikers uses 25 stops to introduce visitors to the history of The Granny's Valley, which was declared a national wilderness area, and to the story The Granny by Božena Němcová. The trail starts by Barunka's school in Česká Skalice and ends by Riesemburg gazebo.

Česká Skalice - Svinišťany - Josefov 1866 - educational trail with posted information
The education trail was created in 2004 and leads visitors to the most important battle sites of the fighting at Česká Skalice and Svinišťany on 28 and 29 June 1866. Visitors also have the opportunity to learn about the unique fortification system of the Josefov bastion fortress. The 30 km education trail has a total of 22 stations with information tables. The trail begins in the town of Kleny and ends at the military cemetery in the Josefov fortress.

Dobrošov - chalet and lookout tower
The original lodge with a 6 m high observation tower was built as early as 1893. However, the capacity of the lodge was not sufficient and on the 70th birthday of writer Alois Jirásek in 1921 the foundation stone was laid for a 25 metre observation tower and a new lodge named in his honour; construction was completed within 2 years according to the plan by Dušan Jurkoviče. Josefov - fortified town
Josefov Fort, which hides labyrinth of underground corridors of the length of 45 km, was built from 1780 to 1787 at the instance of emperor Joseph II and was to serve as protection of provincial frontiers against offensive Prussia. Today it is a universal unique landmark of such a kind.

Church of Our Lady
The church stood in the middle of the original Czech settlement in the period before colonisation. Its present form dates back to 1811. This is the oldest preserved wooden church building within the territory of the Czech Republic. In the walkway are tombs from previous centuries. The old part of the adjacent cemetery is also of interest.

Náchod - chateau

Broumov Brewery
A monasterial and bourgeois brewery once operated in Broumov. A fire struck the monastery in 1664. In the 18th century, the church moved the brewery to a place where it still stands to this day. Today's production totals approximately 40 000 hl per year.

Vízmburk - castle ruins
Castle dating back to the 13th century, purchased by Silesian princes and towns in 1447, who then tore it and burnt it down because of danger. Archaeologist Antonin Hejna discovered it under a large deposit of earth in 1972. Excavations were conducted here until 1984, later the area was fenced in and access was forbidden. Access to the monument is gradually being permitted again, conservationists are preparing a project for the rescue of the entire building suffering from the effects of climate.
