The construction of the 48 metre tower of Hořice sandstone was commenced in 1574 with donations from residents. In 1581 the imposing bell Augustine (169 cm high and 260 cm wide) was hung on the tower. The size of the bell in the country is exceeded only by the St. Vitus bell Zikmund. The telecommunication tower with an observation deck replaced the original observation tower in 1999. From the 34 metre high observation deck there are fantastic views of former battle grounds from 1866, part of the Krkonoše foothills, the Hradec Králové surrounding area, the Železné Mts., the distant Orlické Mts., and under favourable conditions even the peaks of the Krkonoše Mts. The fifteen meters high iron lookout tower was built by inhabitants of Libníkovice in 1930. It was considered a compensation for the hundreds of years old national Lime Tree, with a staircase allegedly leading to its capitulum. Address: 50345, Libníkovice
